Date: 2024-01-14 04:41 am (UTC)Talk over me. It takes a lot to get me to get the nerve to talk to people that I'm not comfortable with, and if they talk over me, I find it very disrespectful and I instantly stop talking.
5. What's something that you know that few other people know?
I know that... man, I'm trying to think of something cool. Hmmm. Oh. Here's one: I know that there are 100s of people buried in Shenandoah National Park. I've walked by a bunch of them. ❤️❤️
14. What is something that you like that your parents do?
My parents loved each other with their whole hearts. I love how devoted to each other they were right up to the day my dad died (and even beyond tbh) when he was 42. It also probably wasn't healthy for me because I never learned how to fight or have disagreements with someone I loved so I always thought fights marked the end and I'd do anything to avoid them, or start packing when they happened. 😭😭

Date: 2024-01-14 04:51 am (UTC)I feel that I had so many weird or mixed connections, so many fated acquaintances in my 20s, but I can't for the life of me think of one. But, I've been thinking of it and I just know they're all going up come back up me when I hit "post comment." *sigh*

Date: 2024-01-14 05:04 am (UTC)Oh man, I used to have so many secret places, so many hidey- holes like blanket piles in backs of closets or a hideaway clearing in the forests by my grandma's house.
Now, it seems when I want to hide, to have a place all my own, I get in my car and drive. Sometimes when I'm hiking and I don't see another living soul, I'll imagine that the entire mountain is my secret place all to myself. ❤️❤️
What about you?

Date: 2024-01-14 06:05 am (UTC)Nowadays it's mainly my Mind Shed... I'd never call it a palace. ;D
I had places out in the woods when I was a kid too and the attic at my gran's house which no one realised a little kid could actually access and it was magical, full of old discarded objects.

Date: 2024-01-14 05:13 am (UTC)I like to do the very most touristy thing, I love hop-off hop-on bus tours. It such a great way to see a new city in a short time. I even like to do them with friends and family who come to visit in big cities that I live very close to and yet, wouldn't even begin to know where to go and what to see. I've done them in:
Boston (a lot of times)
New York (a few times)
New Orleans
San Francisco
Washington DC (a few times)
Toronto
London
Edinburgh

Date: 2024-01-14 05:22 am (UTC)Comfortable? I did have someone stop me when I was in a function wearing a somewhat slinky black and white stripey dress and say "I don't know what you're everyday vibe is, but it should definitely be this, because your are exquisite." and it sort of stuck with me. That is my style (well not the slinky per se), funky black and white. I want to compare myself to David Rose, but probably more like his mother. 🤣🤣
8. If you had to describe your current life as a movie, which movie would you choose?
Oh wow. I don't know. I always see myself as the sidekick of someone else's movie if I'm being honest.
12. If you had the choice to go back in time or into the future, which would you choose?
I guess that depends if I'm jumping forward and back in my own timeline. If so, I'd like to go back, see people who are no longer in my life, right some wrongs, slap some sense into myself. You know the usual.
If any time though, the future. I'd like to see if we do get better or just never learn and never change until we've completely destroyed everything. And then what?

Date: 2024-01-16 08:18 pm (UTC)Hmmm. I think I live inside my head more than other people do? Not to say that I'm this deep thinker and other people aren't, but just that on the surface, I have very little of the things that others have--I don't have a spouse, or a relationship and I really never have, I don't have kids and I spend a lot of time on the periphery of other people's lives. But, I got a lot of stuff going on in my head so it keeps me going and gives me purpose. I guess it's a luxury that others who have all those things that I don't can't afford because they're busy living and thinking for other people. I envy them that sometimes, but not enough to give up what I have going on in here *taps temple*
And reading over that makes very little sense. So I guess that might be one way my reality differs because it made sense in my head. ♥

16. Do you have any apps on your phone that you've never used?
So. Very, Many,
Some I download then forget. Some came with the phone but is clearly not meant for a person like me. But most of them from when I've given the phone to kiddos I used to taxi from their mom's house in our state to their dad's house a state over (and about a 2 hour drive) every month or so when I was a nanny. about 15 or 20 minutes they would start to get on each others nerves, so I'd give them my phone to take turns on and told them they could download two new games each. I usually took them off shortly after, but some I kept if I saw they played them a lot. ♥

Date: 2024-01-16 09:47 pm (UTC)1. What would be the best thing about losing your hearing?
Firstly, I sort of think this is a sort of icky ableist question that makes me feel weird. Like, there probably are good things about losing your hearing--peace and quiet maybe, not being forced to participate in conversations you don't care about--but it feels weird to say? You know?
Or, it could be just that I've been slowly sort of already losing my hearing so I feel ovely sensitive to this question. I can't see the positives yet. Besides of the 5 senses, I could think of worse ones to lose. Ask me what the worse thing about losing hearing would be and I would have a much thorough answer, but it's too much to contemplate right now. ♥ ♥

Date: 2024-01-16 09:40 pm (UTC)3. What's the most recent interesting conversation you had?
You mean besides these ones? Like in real life with real actual spoken words? Hmmm. Well, there is always gosup at work which is a weird and new thing for me. I used to work in isolation as a nanny, spent most of my career doing that, but now I'm in a daycare and yeah... it's weird. But, you asked for interesting... hmmm.
I did get to talk to a friend about the different ways a story can be told and how we only get piece of stories in the true kinds and how usually they aren't the most interesting. This conversation was started by her telling me about finishing the book she had been reading--"KIllers of the Flower Moon" and I was telling her about how a NDN actress that I follow had said that they wished if they were going to tell a story like that, that they for ONCE OMG tell it from the POV of the victims, but no. It's always the white-Leonardo DiCaprio dudes that get the story.
