Music Makes it All Better

I sort of went on a music binge a while ago. I do this from time to time. Somehow I wound up on Rise Against. This song just broke me:

GOD! Just... just ;______;

The whole idea of bullies and being bullied freaks me out. I wasn't. I was invisible. Didn't matter at all. And am completely fine with that, seeing the alternative. :((

I too was invisible, after an incident or two. It's just that we were sensitive enough to learn to disappear, early.

you want to go see DH2 again? later this week?

Yes. I think that was it. I spent my formative years watching my brother get beat up regularly for no reason and learned how to avoid people's notice pretty quickly. :(((

I have to take my little guy to see it on the IMAX 3D...any interest in that?

Well there is IMAX 3D at Woodbridge, Alexandria, Dulles or Manassas that would work for us and as for time, I think 4ish is the latest we could do as the 7ish might end a bit too late. Does any of that work for you?

It took me a long time too. I had of course heard the song a few times on AltNation but the video just WRECKED me. They also have one about Hurricane Katrina that had me actually, honest to god, BAWLING. ;______;

*sniffs* it's heartbreaking and I'm like you, in high school I was invisible but in primary school (ages 5-11) I was bullied because I had such an English accent but it's mostly gone now, at least I think so.


I'm not a Dan Rad fan but he does say some very good things. Exhibit a above :)

Yeah. I don't, as a rule, give celebs much credence, but srsly, the things he's done with the Trevor Project are sort of amazing.

Well being the only one with an English accent not understand Kiwi's who shorten their vowels so peg sounds like pig and pen sounds like pin... it was difficult, the girls I went to primary with I also went to high school with... I hate being the centre of attention, why I'm not having a 21st party this year!

I'm like that too... but he does do good stuff and he says some sensiible things. Comes across very genuine.

Yeah. He's one of the good ones. I think we should keep him. ;) I loved when there was all the hub-bub about his "drinking problem" which was pretty much him saying, "Yeah, I had a small window of time where I was having fun at bars but then I decided I didn't want to do that, so I don't." haha, oh if only we all had such "drinking problems." ♥♥

Omg. Rise Against. I don't usually like that type of music, but my boyfriend's into them and we saw them in concert a few months back. The song "Hero of War" makes me cry EVERY SINGLE TIME. I got goosebumps just thinking about it.

I was like you, for the most part invisible. I got picked on a little bit, but nothing to the extreme of what a lot of kids nowadays seem to be going through. It's so awful. :(

Yeah. I think I used to get them mixed up with a thrash metal band? Or maybe they were that before? Not sure, but I'm always surprised how lovely they are and all there songs are AMAZINGLY about things.
