Fandom Snowflake Challenge Day #2

Day 2

In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your wish-list if you feel comfortable doing so. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Check out other people's posts. Maybe you will grant a wish. If any wishes are granted, we'd love it if you link them to this post.

Man, I don't know if I'm glad or apprehensive that the last two days challenges have been the hardest. Glad because that might mean the hard ones will be behind me after this, but apprehensive because maybe they'll all be hard this year.

You see, if there's one thing harder for me than tooting my own horn, it's asking for things. *shudders*

So, this is just a list of things I wish I had the talent to do myself that would fill me with unbelievable glee to receive. And most of them are basically cut and paste from last year's list, as my wants haven't really changed all that much. There is one added thing and they are all here under the cut:



♥ Doctor Who icons-- one specifically. A gif icon of 11 being adorable with text along the line of "I will hug him and pet him and call him my Squishy..." or something. I would also love some Doctor Who quote icons. I only really know 11 and 12 so far, but if you've seen any, point me, cool?

♥ The Usual-- I, like most writers I know, would LOVE anything based on any of my fics--or my book (just sayin')--fic, fanmix, vid, art, podfic... whatever. ♥♥

♥ ALL THINGS MIRANDA! I haven't really done a new fandom in a while and never this small. With Harry Potter, it was easy to find your place and sort of hunker down, find new pairings and new people and create a fandom life, right her on LJ. With White Collar, I just mostly talked to people I knew on my flist who also watched, did a bunch of live-watching with a community of Peter/Neal shippers which was fun, but not for me. Then after season 4 I hosted a friending meme and that's where I found everyone who was active in the fandom. With Doctor Who... there's no way to avoid people willing to talk to you and point you in the direction and share in your squee. THEY'RE EVERYWHERE! ♥

With Miranda I don't even know where to start. I mean, of course I ran to Tumblr for the visuals right after the show, but that's Tumblr. It only goes so far. You can't talk to people on Tumblr (can you?), you can't get fic recs, and ask people to point you in the direction of communities, creators, meta and all the like. So, I guess I want to ask for some Miranda friends. Which, I know. LAME... but there you go...

When you say Miranda you mean Miranda Hart of the BBC, I presume? :) I've watched all the eps as they've come out although it hasn't occurred to me to seek out the fandom for it. I do love her so so much though. <3

You can talk to people on tumblr. If you leave a chat post in the tag, asking for fic recs?

I've always enjoyed Miranda but there's barely any fandom that I've found. I once rec'd a Youtube vid at my LJ and I've seen some nice gifsets on Tumblr and I use the show for reaction gifs in particular:

but that's about as far it goes; I've not seen any fic I really want to read and I haven't written any myself. I was a bit disappointed with the final episode but then it would have been hard to make an ending that would please everyone.
So just to say, hi, another person who enjoys the show :D

It's that particular crossover a bit painful right now? After the DW xmas episode and the WC series finale, both of those shows are giving me so many mixed feelings.

Aww man it's so hard when you get into a fandom that is so tiny/scattered that it's impossible to find any people to bond with about it. :((((( wah I hope you find some Miranda peeps!

Speaking of, ARGHHHH I just finished the Christmas special and now I cannot get my hands on the final episode >:o
