Today is all about two for the price of one! First, two challenges.
The first one: Comment to someone you haven't ever interacted with before or introduce yourself to someone you've interacted with and friend/follow them.
I decided to check out my first Doctor Who community,

Anyway, enough of that. For today is Day 5:
In your own space, talk about a creator. Show us why you think they are amazing.
And here is where you get your second two for one. For I will be shouting the praises of two creators that together are Wallflower Arts.
Individually they are

They're awesome on many individual levels, but together, they
Emma and Ruth live with their pets in a tiny pre 1870's cottage in the remote mining town of Hill End, central west NSW. Surrounded by books, wool, fruit trees, animals and the beautiful red clays and Australian Bush there is much to inspire them. They both use creating and art as a way to deal with chronic illnesses and disability and to bring beauty and happiness into the world. The need to create has always been a part of both of them and their focus at the moment has been on knitting, spinning, needle felting, crochet, photography, dyeing and beaded jewellery.
Seriously, they do it all! Embroider! Crochet! Knit! Felt! SPIN THEIR OWN FREAKIN' YARN--ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!? And what's best--they SELL THEIR STUFF FOR EXTREMELY REASONABLE PRICES!! Especially when you consider the crap ton amounts of HOURS devoted to each thing!
*And because they're into fandom and because they're awesome, you can commission them for just about anything. Whovians, want a felted TARDIS? They're on it. Collars, want a fedora and handcuff embroidered bag? They're on it. Sherlockians, want an ugly jumper? They're on it.
*Disclaimer: Those are just examples. I am not speaking for them or their availability to make ALL THE THINGS. I'm just suggesting that you give them a try. You won't be sorry!
ETA: Oh, oh, almost forgot, here are some more places you can "follow" or "like" them:

Date: 2014-01-07 02:32 am (UTC)Usually the shooting period is about 6 months give or take, so...yeah. Hearing some good rumours about things so far since there are three separate directors in Cardiff right now doing production/pre-production, prolly with 1-2 episodes each.

Date: 2014-01-07 04:01 am (UTC)Series 6 was split in two, with the second half airing in August or early Sept. And S7 started at the same time for the first 5 stories (thru Angels Take Manhattan), then the Xmas special, then the last 8 starting at Easter again.
The rumour is that S8 is running uninterrupted for 13 or 14 episodes starting in late August/early September. So.plenty of time.

But yeah, we totally are able to make all the things. Though knitted things that are big or complex will have to wait until Ruth has finished knitting two scarves. Everything else I'm happy to start on.
I really should put this list in my Masterlist.
Some examples of fandom stuff:
Patterns for most of these aren't ours or weren't originally and we've adapted them.
Knitted and Crocheted:
We've also done a plush Arthur from Merlin http://www.flickr.com/photos/wallflowerarts/5742575799/
Umm I've never seen Supernatural but someone wanted a bear with this on their chest http://www.flickr.com/photos/wallflowerarts/5623985206/
A cat bus, Totoros and soot sprites http://www.flickr.com/photos/wallflowerarts/8163917929/
A squishy Dalek http://www.flickr.com/photos/wallflowerarts/4580933567/
This embroidery is a fandom mash up. Keire_Ke drew gorgeous pics of Erik and Charles from X-Men First Class as My Little Ponies and Winterhill wrote the fic for it in a Reverse Bang. I embroidered a new piece of Keire_Ke's art for Winterhill as a birthday present http://www.flickr.com/photos/wallflowerarts/8149489692/
The rest of these are totally my designs. Embroideries based on my sketches:
