tjs_whatnotGuys, I don't think I'm ready for this. At all.
I've been mainlining Season 3 in the last day in a half to prepare myself and it's almost making it worse. But there are some good in it all and this seems a good as any time to talk about it-- before it all goes to hell. :((
So, remember when you re-read Deathly Hallows again after that first time and you were shocked that you had imagined that the whole book was camping when in all actuality it wasn't that horrendous on re-read? That sort of my feelings on Mozzie.
Not that I ever stopped being a unapologetic Mozz!fangirl, but I did question his motives and was very angry at the writers for making his character inconsistent and perhaps sometimes, rather douchey. But now, well... he's still sort of douchey some times but dude, he's got his reasons.
And here's what it comes down to... quite simply (because I'm running out of time) HOUR FROM NOW, OMGOMGOMG!
But, quite simply, one must remember this one very elementary Mozzie fact.
THE MOTHERFUCKIN' TREASURE BELONGS TO HIM!!
At no time did he give it to Neal. At no time did he give up his ownership. He included Neal because that's what friends and associates do and because well, it was their dream and there's plenty to share and maybe Mozzie doesn't want to have it all while his partner sits shackled in a situation that he finds reprehensible. Not that it was all kindness of his heart. Oh no. It's easier with Neal, it's easier with Neal's connections to the FBI. But, it's not impossible for him to run without Neal. And yet he doesn't.
So yes, with Neal and Peter being the main characters in this tale and Mozzie being the adorably eccentric sidekick, we feel as if we've watched our heroes being mauled by their pet schnauzer (or equally adorable and benign doggie), but look at it from Mozzie's point of view where he's the freakin' hero of his story, answers to no one and is repulsed with himself for getting too attached (the very thing he accuses Neal of constantly) and I don't blame him for any of it. I only wish he would have given up on Neal sooner and run earlier. Before Keller got involved.
That being said. The fucker better swoop in and save the motherfuckin' day.
Seriously.
Expect mass amounts of incoherence and rigmarole later tonight/tomorrow night. Come join the shenanigans!
