I can't believe how minimalist I'm being this year. Only 3 fandoms! For me? That is UNHEARD of! And I'm going to keep this simple too. Actually really simple as I just wrote this lengthy, very detailed thing, only to hit post and somehow lose the whole thing. The idea of writing (or remembering) all I said just seems overwhelming.

So, I'll just say, as far as characters go, it turns out I've been doing Yuletide wrong all this time and I feel bad about that, but now that I know how to do it (I hope) Iet me just say, that when I list people, they don't all have to be included, and you can completely add people who aren't in the tag set. I won't tell if you don't. ;) I'll give you ideas and you can do what you want with them. And if there are people I really don't want to read about, I'll let you know... though, I can't think of any in these three fandoms.

I'm sure you've noticed a theme, yeah? I sort of went on a Queer Lit bender this year. These are three of my absolute favorites. Feel free to do any crossover/fusion/what have you with any of these or with anything else I've read this year.

Boyfriend Material: Okay, I fell HARD for Luc and Oliver and their story! As a couple and individually.  I could go on... and on and on... but how about a list of my favorite things instead:

The Humor

Isn't Alexis Hall the best? Like, everything I've read of his has made me laugh, but for very different reasons as all his characters are so different. The things that I held onto and would be giddy to see more of are Luc's attempts to get Alex (and Rhys) to laugh at his ridiculous jokes. Dick pics. :D

The Heart: Again, the things that stuck with me. The conversations through doors. ♥ Bacon. French toast. Rainbow Balloons.  And what I really loved was how I got halfway through the book and thought, "What, we got a whole half of a book to read and Luc has already been sort of... fixed? Now what? Like, it didn't even occur to me that they BOTH had issues to work through. I was so invested in Luc as the protagonist and this being his story and him being so very messed up and then what? Oliver isn't perfect? Oliver has a horrible father too? I was so blown away!

I saw this thing on Tumbr and it has stayed with me to best articulate my thoughts and feelings on this ship and also the difference between it and my other love this year Alex/Henry from Red White and Royal Blue.

Red, White and Royal Blue made me fall in love with Alex and Henry falling in love despite them hating each other.

Boyfriend Material made me fall in love with Luc and Oliver falling in love despite them hating themselves.

Like right? Didn’t they just? And how they both thought they didn’t deserve the other? And how they both thought they were just doing it for the agreement GUHHHHH!

Oliver Calling calling Luc-Lucien: This might just be the way the narrator said it that always sent a shiver all over my body, but JEEEEEZUS it's delicious. ♥

Prompts? Want some? Sure. Really, I'd love anything.  Maybe more bad jokes? Maybe Oliver gets Alex to laugh and Luc takes it personally? Or maybe something about Oliver and Odile doing something to bond in some way? Like he tries to help her improve her Special Curry? Or maybe just the porny bits we didn't get in the books? Whatever really. ♥

Red, White and Royal Blue: First, if you were the one to nom this, you are a GENIUS! I never thought to look at the movie alone as an eligible fandom. ♥ And lets be honest, the movie was SOOOO GOOD that it should totally be its own fandom. Yeah, sure, I miss poor June and Luna, but *shrug* it's fine.

And while I would love to just get more Alex/Henry basically doing anything anywhere, I also really fell in love with Nora and the actress that played her. She just had so many micro-expressions and I find myself watching her more and more with each re-watch (of which there have been SOOOOO many!) So, anhything you want to do with her I’d be down for. Like, maybe a Alex/Henry story through her POV? Or maybe letters (letters were a BIG thing that I missed from the books) between Alex and her--and Henry and her maybe?

Other ideas? Honestly, anything. Pre-canon, maybe a look at their first meeting, or any other time when they snubbed and were mean to each other. Or post-canon… from maybe doing very bad things in Alex’s childhood home the night of the election to what comes next. OR, OR… you know all that montage bits? I’d love to read a story of what happened during those. Especially after seeing this:

One Last Stop

This book was so great on so many levels! First, the concept of time travel and soulmates and the cosmic coincidences like Jane being besties with August’s uncle back in the day and what are the freakin’ odds, to the delight of found queer AF families. GUH, my favorite thing EVER! That’s why I didn’t specifiy any particular character, because really I just want more of all of them--or whatever ones you want to give me more of.

Specific things just in case?

Alternative endings. Really, anywhere you want to take Jane and August would be fascinating.

What’s next. How does Jane function in the 21st century.

Isaac and Wes. ANYTHING. Just, I think there is so much more to their story than we get and I’d like to read any of it.

And, that’s it.

If you want anymore glimpses into my likes and dislikes and peeks into what sort of things I’ve enjoyed in the past, feel free to check out other posts with these tags. I used to be a lot more verbose. ;)
