And look, it only took me 8 days to fall painfully behind. EEK.

Challenge #5

In your own space, promote a canon/talk about a part of canon that you love.

Remember back in the day, the Promo Posts where someone would try and convince you to check out a new fandom? Those were great, yeah.

So, allow me to Introduce You to Miranda Hart

I love her so much! Who she is as a person, what she stands for, her heart, her humor. The best way to get to know her is through her show, aptly called Miranda.

A story about an awkward girl who finds ways to enjoy life even if it’s not conventional.

She starts each show introducing us the audience to what’s going on in her life, and throughout the shenanigans, she often breaks the 4th wall and confides in us.

She has a group of friends: her bestfriend Stevie who helps run the joke shop she owns--and bought to annoy her mother.

Her fruit friends and veggiepals. ♥

She has an overbearing mother who just wants her to get married and have Such Fun!

And finally, she has the guy that works at the restaurant next door and who she’s known since college who is very fun to look at, and is as goofy as she is in a lot of ways.

Who loves to have Duck and Caterpillar Races:

Who does the Cold Bed Dance with Miranda when they have sleepovers and occasionally sweeps her off her feet:

And who thinks:

*sigh*

And if you're thinking the boy looks familiar, yes, that is Lucifer. But, here's a visual explanation of teh differences between the two characters:

And if you think the premise of the show sounds familiar, yes, they just remade this for American audiences in a show called "Call me Kat," that I won't even contemplate for this post. *shivers*

It's available on Hulu in the US. It's only 20 episodes long, and it's the thing I would direct people to if they wanted to get to know what type a person I am without saying anything.

Watch it now; thank me later.

And then, after you've watched and fallen in love, sign up for her newsletter (you can find it in the link above) and have little nuggets of awesome delivered to your inbox. Follow her on Instagram because she is awesome and occasionally does these vids she calls Chambles--Chatty Rambles--that are magical. Also, for more fun, you could Buy her book "Daily Doses of Such Fun: 365 Joy filled tasks to make your life more engaging, fun, caring and jolly. I've done a few. It was a jolly good time. ♥ ♥

Is Miranda on Netflix?

I'm a bit behind on Snowflake too. I have also fallen behind on responses! But anymore I'm so used to getting 2-4 comments on DW/LJ in a span of four days that I was not prepared for loads of comments in the span of seven hours. Then I procrastinated on responding. Whoops.

That looks like such fun! (And I recognized Tom Ellis even though I don't watch Lucifer. He's quite striking. *g*)

(I had planned to give the US version a try, but the previews for it really turned me off. o_O)

I'm putting this on my list. I can't do streaming services, but I'll figure out a way to watch it. Maybe my library has it?!!!

(I got behind, too. Had to do a 3-challenge catch-up post.)

I tend not to enjoy television comedies, but I very much enjoyed Miranda Hart in Call the Midwife.

In general, it's just not a genre I enjoy. (I like standup--well, depending on the standup, but I can definitely find standup I like--so it's not "comedy," it's specifically TV comedies.)

But I do like her, so possibly when someone else in my household really wants to watch a comedy, I'll suggest that.
