Challenge #3: Guess Who's Coming to Dinner

In your own space, tell us who, from one of your fandoms, would you most want to have dinner with (or tea, or a random afternoon visit), And why?

For a massive introvert, it's really weird how much I enjoy throwing dinner parties. Maybe it's because I'm in charge, or because making things (especially food) is my love language, and thinking about what to serve is a huge part of it, thinking about each person, their likes and dislikes, who they are as people.

But, before this gets out of hand:

This is just on the top of my head, as I tend to overthink things, and then never get around to actually articulate them in written form. So, whenever I get this question, this invite to play this game, I always think of my favorite literary characters, because if the game has no limits, I’m bringing book faves to life. But, one of my favorites have now become sort of problematic, so I don’t want him with my other favorites, but I still want to talk to him, have him explain himself better. So, two dinner parties it will have to be. And two themes.

Let’s Talk About Race, Baby
Not to get too heavy and real-world bummer at you, but for this party, I’d invite Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird and Atticus Finch from Go Set a Watchman and then from American Gods, I’d invite Mr. Nancy (especially the one played by Orlando Jones GUH!) and Shadow Moon (just because I can’t be the only one with nothing to say at this party. HAHA).

My Boys In Need of a Good Meal
I just realized that most of my favorite characters from literature are a bit malnourished. I’m not sure what that says about me, but I’m not going to unpack that right now. Instead, let's get onto the guests. From The Sparrow, Emilio Sandoz. From Grapes of Wrath, Tom Joad and from Harry Potter Remus Lupin… and since Atticus has been uninvited--and doesn’t fit the theme anyway--let’s feed a new sad sack, this time from TV. David Rose from Schitt’s Creek. :D I only met him like 7 episodes ago, but he seems like he… well, he would probably hate this party as they aren’t exactly hip and happening, but I think if nothing else, Emilio would keep him smiling, and it would get him out of the creek.

The real question that I will probably spend too much of my day contemplating is, what to serve? Tom probably won’t want any milk, Emilio will probably not want any unfamiliar looking meat, and depending on the time of the month, Remus will probably want his meat extremely rare. And I’ll have to do something trendy for David.

Oh, and bonus because why not:
Women I want to be, or do: Katherine Hepburn, Captain Janeway (is that how it's spelled? I just recently fell in love with her as The BFF had been watching ALL the Star Trek) and Dana Scully...oh, and CJ Cregg...and Miranda...and... okay, stopping there. 😍😍

What fun answers! I love that you have multiple parties and themes. :D

And holding characters or creators to account is a perfect use of the challenge, if you ask me!

You are the second person I've seen who wants invite Janeway, she is such a great choice, imagine the stories she'd have.

All your other choices sound interesting, I don't know how well they'd all get along, but least your party wouldn't be boring. Also, David would probably hate it, but I do think he would think that Hepburn was fabulous, because she was.

These are great answers! I definitely read David Rose as something that's struggled with his body image a lot as he's actually a Big Guy but that isn't exactly hip in circles where skinny twinks may be more appreciated.
