I finally am sitting down to work on a project, and that is what reminds me taht I haven't posted yet this week. ;)

How is it going for everyone else? It seems sort of slow out there, or is that just me? You got anything you're working on? What keeps you going? Deadlines? Satisfaction? Just wanting it fuckin' done already? I hear ya.

For me, it's deadlines. I'm working on a essay for a book on the X-Files, so I'm watching the episode I assigned myself to write about and researching Indian tribes of the Pacific Northwest for it.

What about you? What you got? Give it to us!

I'm in that "everything sucks, i hate it, why did I think I could write, I should give up and never write again" phase. I have several big projects in limbo and I've let so much time pass that I need to re-read them from the beginning to get back in the groove and… I just have no motivation to even try right now.

So very the same! I keep hoping something new will present itself in its shiny-newness and I won't have to resort to revisiting things that are so old and therefore uninspiring that I just dont... want anymore... ever.

And I really want to finish the two stories I'm working on. I just… don't want to have to write them. I want them to magically just be finished and be brilliant. At the moment, I think I've hit the point where I'm afraid my skills aren't up to my vision.

And my skills are never up to my vision--I don't think many authors feel that they are--but the saving grace is that you are the only one who knows what it was supposed to look like. ♥

When the writing is going well, it's such a rush I almost feel high. Which you'd think would be more than enough motivation to push past my inertia and self-doubt, but… not so much.
