I know what you mean. I'm tempted to participate (because you never know where and when you'll stumble across that new fandom friend) and yet I've been doing a terrible job of keeping up with my reading list lately.

Right? I found so many great friends through the last Friending Meme I did and I can't imagine I'd even be here on DW at all without them, but I still don't feel I've given them--or this place--the time and energy they deserve, now I'm going to add more? No. I can't.

Fandom does have its own language that makes no sense outside of the bubble.

But, if you do want to make new friends in a slighly less fandom=y sense, I found this one for you. It does ask fandom questions, but more about the things you geek over and that can be tweeked to focus on music and whatever else gets you excited. ;)

I always am tempted by these things but then get hung up when I have to put down "Yeah, I'm the old fart who still is pretty much exclusively into Harry Potter" haha.
