GUYS! OMG! You would think after four years I'd be used to this... this sad emptiness that happens this time of year, this need to wrap my mind around things (even if there was no real cliffhanger this time). But nope. Again, I wish I had so many people to talk to, commiserate with, speculate with--CLING TO!

So, LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!

the anachronisms in canon are a little off-putting Yes, I do have trouble with the historical inaccuracies, too, but not enough to keep me from reading the stories. I have more trouble reading complete AUs in large doses. I'm like that in any fandom, though, not just Merlin. Complete AUs are a lot of fun, but I can only read them once in a while, and when I'm in the mood for them.

Ooooo, thank you for the recs. I don't think I know any of these. *iz excited*

I always take too much on. It's so unfair that RL keeps getting in the way of all I want to do in fandom. *g*

Yeah, my somewhat new head canon is that the show actually takes place in a feudalistic future--so far in the future that we've gone back.

I get what you're saying about only liking a certain kind of fic every once in a while. I have very specific preferences for fic according to fandom. In some I only like specific types of AUs, or canon-based AUs, and in some I only like canon-compliant, or certain pairings if it's a certain genre/type of AU. I just hope the ones I linked are the kind of thing you're looking for. Hope you enjoy them!

I just hope the ones I linked are the kind of thing you're looking for. As soon as I stop using all my free time to do this friending meme, I'll be checking them all out. *G*
