This year's Fandom March Madness took a nasty turn against one of my favorite doctors and the actor who plays him. :(((

So, please tell me good things about Mr. Martin Freeman and/or why Dr. John Motherfuckin' Watson is a BAMF. Or, barring that, spam me with loveliness in the Sherlock/Watson/Martin Freeman variety...any Watson... Any Freeman.

Right? They were a scary bunch. I haven't seen the show and have been leery and now I'm just over the hype of it. :((

I don't know anything about him personally either, and am just going to assume those quotes they were pulling out are out of context or were said a long time ago when he was young and maybe sort of dumb... idk. I'm just going to sit in a corner and think of all the lovely that he is responsible for.

They were horrible horrible people. I don't remember the FMM ever being so nasty or personal before this year but it really has turned me off to even following it in future.

I love DA, but the fandom is honestly scary. Plus it's one of those cases if you don't love character X or pairing Y over all others, you're not a real fan or...something. I enjoy the show, but will not touch the fandom now.

I honestly don't know about those quotes either. Loads of people say stupid things from time to time, then regret them later. Until he shows up at a National Front rally or whatever, I'm going to discount them. Plus I really don't know/care about his personal life. I like him as an actor in the things I've seen and will be seeing (omg THE HOBBIT!) and am ignoring everything else unless it's something HUGE AND UNAVOIDABLE (like raping puppies on the internet...)

I also thought he was adorable in Love Actually. So that's another one.
