This year's Fandom March Madness took a nasty turn against one of my favorite doctors and the actor who plays him. :(((

So, please tell me good things about Mr. Martin Freeman and/or why Dr. John Motherfuckin' Watson is a BAMF. Or, barring that, spam me with loveliness in the Sherlock/Watson/Martin Freeman variety...any Watson... Any Freeman.

Why John H. Watson is Flawless

He has a strong moral center, is a crack shot, and has nerves of steel in combat and dangerous situations (Study in Pink). He is also a man of strong faith and loyalty and patience. He stands up for himself and gives as good as he gets when his best friend is being overly arrogant and face-punch-worthy. He can smooth over those awkward moments Sherlock is so often causing and can make the ladies open up with his smooth sweet smile and lovely warm conversation (Baskerville). As has been often observed, he's a wonderful boyfriend, for Sherlock (Scandal), and he is the heart to Sherlock's head.

And for all these reasons and more, he is the catalyst that pushes Sherlock to open himself to sentiment and friendship and love, for which he is willing to sacrifice everything (Reichenbach).
