I KNEW you were Australian from your story! It was just so very perfect with colloquialisms and attention to geographical detail! ♥ ♥
YES! YES! Penpals for sure!
Harrow! I can't even explain how I found it and why it hit so hard, but I have to think it was a little due to how much I loved and missed Forever--why did that not have a million seasons?!?! I had not heard of Harrow, but there was another show with him that I was too terrified to watch--I think it's called Liar, or The Liar? But, I just didn't want to see him being a bad guy and I thought maybe he was? So I avoided it. When I saw there was another show with him, I was excited. When I saw it was a crime procedural I was doubly so (I'm a sucker for those--but not usually in a fandom-y way, just in a put it on and do other things-noise in the background way). I have such good memories--which in 2021 were sometimes hard to come by--of finally learning how to pronounce his name (according to YouTube) and shouting it out while watching because it's just such a great name to shout out. ;)
And oh man, White Collar! I too am very much Peter/Neal/El (I think this is the only fandom I've ever heard of that almost EVERYONE in it ship those three the most. ♥ But Mozzie is my heart! Especially now since losing Willie Garson *sobs* I just want all the Mozzie with all his quirks and the ways that every character changes him and makes him shine. Oh, that reminds me, you should sign up for chocolateboxcomm, it's like Yuletide by focuses on relationships--either gen or romance--and there are SO MANY fandoms, not just tiny ones--even though I lot of those too.
And haha, The Author is Dead is a very good way to be able to fandom in spaces that the actual creator is toxic. I will remember that one. I'm sad to say as far as Twilight, Breaking Dawn sort of broke me of that one. It was a fun ride though. But yeah... full disclosure. Video games and anime I love that other people love them and I love watching my nerdy friends nerd out on things that don't do it for me, so we're cool there too, even if I'm not right there with ya. ;)
