Dear Yuletider!

Hello! Hello! HELLO!
Let's see if I can perform a miracle and have this posted before actual assignments are sent out and you come looking for it. ;) If it's not and you need to yell at me, or if you'd like someone to consult about any aspect of the story you're writing for me, just poke
redsnake05 and she'll properly swat me and help you out. ♥
Now onto the reason we're here. YULETIDE!!
I am sooooo excited this year. After the trashfire of 2020, we all can do with some amazing distractions like writing and consuming fic, rolling around in the fandoms that brought us such joy in the otherwise bleak of a year.
So without further ado, a bit about general likes and dislikes and then I'll get into a few specifics for the fandoms that have been my anchor this year.

So many things! So many contradictory things. Like, angst and humor, dialogue heavy stories and stories with feelings, emotions and hidden agendas but with very little talking. Character studies and relationship fic (more in the way that people relate to other people and how that changes them than the romance of relationships--though there are a few fandoms in here where that could be explored as well). I like journeys--both the physical of travel (road trips are my jam!) and the metaphorical of goal achieving and the like. I like experimental storytelling styles, so if that's your thing--stories told in poetry, epistolary, recipe cards, second person choose your own adventure. If you're feeling crazy, by all means, trust that instinct. I'm HERE for it! I also don't care if you bring unmentioned characters (whether nommed or not, whether canon or not, whether crossover or not).
Dislikes and DNWs
As mentioned in the sign ups, I have a few blanket DNWs that are hard pass for any fic I receive those are:
Hurt without comfort
PWP
Incest
Underage
Most of those really don't even apply to the fandoms I asked for, but better safe than sorry. There might be someone out there yearning to tell a Atticus/Scout fic and thinking I'm their target audience. I'm not. Though I don't judge. ;)
So, the rest of the things are just helpful things to help guide you, not that you have to avoid, but if you're wondering what direction to take your story (and my likes didn't cover it) I'd suggest avoiding these few things as much as possible.
Gore, violence is okay if it's for the story and not just for funsies, just don't need to be super detailed.
Explicit sexy-tiems. I'm sort of over that phase in my life, ya know? Years ago, I couldn't get enough pornz, but now, idk, I'm just more interested in the why, in the before and after.
I really can't think of anything else. I mean, maybe I'll have things in the specific fandoms, but in general, not much bothers me.
So, on to the fandoms. I requested the limit because I wanted a lot of options both for the mods in matching, and in the writer to create. They run in two different camps, things I request every single year and have gotten at least one story for already but want MORE, and things that I only just recently watched/read and have never read any fic from but want to read it ALL!

♥Emilio♥ I love this book and this man so very much! I want to read more about him, about his friends, about his shipmates...missing scene, pre-canon, post, hallucination, AU, anything really... And while you can absolutely keep Emilio as broken as he was in the book, I'd take it as a kindness if you didn't break him anymore... or if you do, please, please fix him. Also, so you know, I've read the sequel too, so feel free to reference (or disregard) any of that to your heart's content. ♥
Philadelphia Story
*sigh* This is my favorite Hepburn/Grant movie (Holiday is my second favorite btw ;) ) and I love everything about it and all the characters and would love anything more of any of the relationships before, during or after the movie. I’ve gotten a lovely poly story with Dexter, Tracey and Malcauley in the past and would love to see that dynamic explored more if that’s your jam. I also am curious to how the relationship with Dexter and Tracey worked (and didn’t) in the past. They give you so many hints and I’d love to see some of those fleshed out. Or just a character study of Tracey. ♥
Northern Exposure
Okay, I know I'm really limiting myself by only signing up with these two characters, so truly, write whatever inspires you in this fandom and I will love it. A few years ago, I got this piece of amazing NE/WTNV fusion that not in a million years would I have been creative enough to actually request. So, part of me wants to just leave you a blank slate.
But... I guess I should clarify a bit why I asked for Marilyn and Joel specifically. I just love their relationship soooo much. How puzzled and frazzled she made him, how they cared about each other in a very bizarre and endearing way. Remember that time that Marilyn went to Seattle and Joel was so worried he followed her there? How adorable and unnecessary that was? God I loved that episode.. them just walking down the street doing exactly what she wants to do. ♥ ♥ So, anything that explores that relationship would be amazing.
Go Set a Watchman (spoilers if you haven't read it yet)
Okay. Like the rest of the world, I had issues with this book, but I still loved it enough that I want to read more of that world. It can be a fix-it fic, or exploring more about what exactly Atticus was saying and how he rationalized it (I still love that guy and would love to get more into his mind if you want to go there), or a missing scene. I would absolutely be OVER THE MOON for a scene with Scout and Calpurnia. I mean, COME ON! Where was she in the book?!? I know Scout goes and sees her, but that's it? I just wanted more. As far as timeline goes, I'd love any precanon, canon or post canon. How did Atticus deal with Jem's death? How did that affect who Atticus became? Do Atticus and Calpurnia talk at all? Did she ever try and smack some sense into him? What ever happened to Boo? How does Scout go on with her life after this visit?
American Gods
Okay, I really liked the book, but thought it had hard-to-pinpoint flaws, so I was leery to watch the series, but OMG! I'm so glad I did. It was everything I wanted the book to be and more! I loved the characters, and while a lot of the mythos of the story eludes me still, I really love the dynamics and relationships we get and also the meta shit about race and servitude and old vs. new. I just feel I could read a billion words more. I love Shadow Moon and really, anything you want to tell me about him, or Wednesday or Mad Sweeney (I don't remember the 4th nommed character so that's why I didn't list him, but if you can tell a substantial story about him or flesh him out for me, that would be okay as well.) Again, feel free to go pre-canon (I loved the bits of Shadow as a kid and would love to see some more of that) or canon (road trips are my jam, so put those characters in a car and go crazy!) or even post canon (either where you think it's going or somewhere else all together). Also, feel free to bring other characters into it if you want.
What We Do in the Shadows
Okay, is this the funnest tv show ever or what?!?! I loved it so much and I loved all the characters (though I'm bad at names so if it's not the 5 main ones, I need a bit of a reminder who they are). The two I'm most interested in reading a story about (but really anyone is fine!) are Guillermo and Colin (not necessarily both but I find them both so fascinating and want more). Guillermo is all things pure and light and I just want him to get what he wants already... or want other things. ;) And Colin, just what??! An emotional vampire--GENIUS! How interesting a theme to play with, right? But, seriously, go crazy with this one. Tell any story you've been dying to write and I'll gobble it up!
