I for one tend to attempt to trawl through all the comments, although if people specify they've written about a fandom that I don't know, I won't go through to the post because there's only so many hours in the day. Also, I only rarely end up commenting, because I don't often have anything to say. (And also, again, hours.)
So far this year I'm actually keeping up and staying on top of all the comments, which is a first, I think. It is a HUGE time commitment, though, and I may eventually have to throw in the towel in order to preserve a bit of sanity. :)
