Dear Yuletider!
Oct. 23rd, 2021 04:02 pmOMG! You're here! Yay! I am so out of it this year so I'm going to count any thing I get based on anything I asked for a tremendous gift and a highlight of my year! Really, just go crazy! Write the story you want told the most and I'm going to be honored!
I really am that easy to please a there are very few things I don't like in the stories I read and so much I do. For example, I love funny, heart-felt, talky-talk, crack, angst, crossovers and fusions, world building, hi-jinx, and romance. The only things I'm not really looking for is non-con anything, sex without purpose, incest in any form and maudlin without resolution.
But some people need specifics and I have very little in my actual sign up (that's what Iget for signing up with 10 minutes to spare EEEEK!), so I'll give you some here.
Harrow: I somehow doubt you were matched on this one as I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who nominated this one and the only one who requested/offered it. I just discovered this show somehow and it accidentally and surprisingly took over my life. It's so hard to be in a fandom that absolutely no one you know has ever heard of. So, if you write for this fandom, prepare for me to request to be your new best friend.
I love all the characters (I would have nommed almost everyone else in the show if I could have (except James, because fuck that guy! 🤣) I really loved all their different relationships and would love a story with any of them. If there was one that I wished I could write myself because I really want to read it, it would be a story of Harrow and Simon (and Jack even though he wasn't nommed) and the whole mentor-student relationship. Whether you take it to romantic ends or not is totally up to you. The only relationship I ask stay out of the bedroom is Harrow and Fern.
NorthernExposure: I love this show so much! I'm happy to see more varied characters be nommed this year. I'd love a story with any is them (Maurice is the only character I don't want to read about all too much, but he wasn't nommed so don't even worry about that... though, I don't mind him being a side character if you want to write an ensemble, episodic or world build-y type story.) If you're into exploring relationships, the ones I find most fascinating are Joel and Marilyn, Ed and anyone, Chris and anyone. Romance isn't necessary. But don't worry, I can get just as shippy as the next person with Joel/Maggie, Holling/Shelly, Ed/Chris, (or any/any really) so go crazy on that front too if that's your thing.
Inkheart: Again, I put any character, any rating because there is NOTHING I do not want explored in this trilogy. This is the one request that has followed me around from all my Yuletides, all my Fic Corners, everything it has been qualified for since I finished the series years ago. It's been YEARS since I've read them, but I remember carrying these characters around for a long time after in my head, in my heart. They are very dear to me. I'd actually given up on this request ever being picked up, so when I saw that someone else had nommed it, my heart lifted like you wouldn't believe. Are you the one?
I can't be the only one who, after reading the series, wanted to DEVOUR all the fics in all the world about this universe and these characters! And yet, I was shocked with how little there was out there. I feel I've read them all and yet haven't had nearly enough. And yes, what is out there is mostly Mo/Dustfinger, so I feel weird asking for more, but like I said, THERE ISN'T ENOUGH!
Their story is just RIFE with emotions and plot fills and tell-me-mores and I want them all! I want to know more about their journey to and from the land of death, I want to know more about their connection after their return. I'd also like to know more about the process of Dustfinger first coming out of the book, how was that very first meeting? How did Mo feel about the responsibility? How could it all have been different?
There is also, though, the relationship between Dustfinger and Resa. MAN, so much wasn't said in that relationship. How did Resa feel while she was reunited with Mo but still had these feelings for Dustfinger? And then to watch her husband become more and more connected and emotionally invested in Dustfinger, how did that feel? If ever there was a relationship that demanded a threesome whether emotionally or sexually, it was them, am I right?
Meggie is just all things lovely, and while you can disregard this and write any story you want, I'd really like her to be the narrator, as in, I'd love to read a story where she learns to control her own story.
Really, any story with any combination of characters would be aces!
