Remembering 9/11

I didn't think I was going to post about this--didn't think I had anything to say that hadn't been said before--but then I found this and I realized, that if nothing else, I wanted to remember this for myself, if for no one else. This was something I wrote ten days after 9/11, the first time I went into the city after the attacks. It's a little strange to read now, but it's all still true...
