Incase you were unaware...here is just a few of the very many reasons I love Tom Robbins...

"...a person has not only perceptions but a will to perceive, not only a capacity to observe the world but a capacity to alter his or her observation of it--which in the end, is the capacity to alter the world, itself. Those people who recognize that imagination is reality's master, we call 'sages,' and those who act upon it, we call 'artists.'"

And then a mere 10 pages later...

"I tell you, that switch from B.C. to A.D.  must have driven people nuts. I bet more than a few Israelites missed their dental appointments."

In other words...I highly recommend "Skinny Legs and All" if you are one of those people who can suspend belief and travel cross country with a mystic stick, a holy Conch Shell, a macho dirty sock, a erotic spoon and a philosophizing Can o' Beans...and watch as Salome looses her seventh veil...

Have you read any Robbins before? He is AWESOME!! But hard to reccomend because he really asks something of his readers. He takes philosophy and religion and politics and turns them on their ears. He also gets compared to Vonnegut alot and sometimes I see the resemblance but most times I think because they are both so hard to characterize.

My first introduction was a book called "Another Roadside Attraction" which was phenomenal and about a guy who discovers the body of Christ in the basement of the Vatican and kidnaps it...brilliant! All his stuff is amazing...let me know what you think!

That one sounds even more intriguing, so I may start with that one instead. Thanks! :)
