I watched the first couple (?) seasons of Fringe (until there was a viewing conflict, or something). How did they work in canon same 'verse as X-Files?!! I never watched the X-Files, but I'm very curious about that.
It must have been subtle because besides Joshua Jackson and others involved with the show talking about how much they loved X-Files and wanted to do a crossover movie when the new season was announced, I never picked up on it. But, like I said, I never watched X-Files and wouldn't know what to be looking for.
A few of us have taken that and run with it, though not as many as I might have hoped. I've written three Fringe/XF crossovers and have plans for a fourth.
It was from the first episode of the second season, "A New Day in the Old Town." I'm not surprised by that. It was definitely an easter egg meant for X-Philes. There are many others but that was the most blatant.
Haha, I do remember that! It makes sense you'd need one division for weird goings on as the result of human beings (in two different worlds) and of aliens, yes?
Can't wait to watch X-Files so I can find crossover fic! I crossed Fringe and White Collar once, but that was completely different! ;)
And six episodes should be good. Your favorite 6 eps that fully articulate how amazing these characters are. Your going to sell me on character way more than plot. ;)

That old "X" Designation.

I even have a set of Fringe/XF icons.
