So, I thought this might be a fun way for me to be here with you all on a weekly basis. Every Wednesday, come and share a bit of what you're working on, whether it be fic, craft, art, meta or anything in between. It doesn't have to be fandom-related. But, if it's for a anonymous fest and your stuff is to be secret, then maybe don't share that? You could share any struggles, achievements and whatnot though.

Feel free to read other people's entries (if anyone else does this that is) and cheer/commiserate/bemoan with them.

Since I can't share any of my Chocolate Box fic that I haven't written yet, here is the beginning of some crack I've had in the back of my mind forever, but sylvanwitch challenged to write a story between two of your favorite characters from extremely disparate fandoms. So here's the beginning of that. And no, Henrietta Pussycat is not my favorite...I haven't written him yet. Working my way up to the Big Guy. ♥

Remus slowly and painfully opened his eyes. He was prepared for anything.

Almost.

“Hello there, meow, meow.”

Was that a cat puppet? Was it talking to him? In cat?

He closed his eyes tight and opened them again, hoping for better results. Nope, still a cat puppet, sitting on a tree limb, looking very anxious.

“Oh dear, oh dear, meow, meow. Are you okay?”

Remus sat up, every muscle in his badoy protesting, and looked around. He closed his eyes again. He’d woken up after a full moon in a few truly strange, hard to explain places, but this? This was by far the strangest.

I might have volunteered for too many things

I've got two unrelated art pieces due in February that I can't talk about specifically, but both are subjects I've never drawn before so I need to do practice sketches to ensure they aren't awful and I just haven't been able to find the time this month.

I promised my sister art for her birthday and I'm now shamefully late with that.

I'm working on both a fun fanfic and an original story as far as writing goes and have even started writing drabbles.

However, everything is on hold this week after I got the notice that my landlords are doing an annual inspection of all the units on Thursday and my place was a disaster area. But after Thursday, fun projects!

Ha! I had forgotten that Henriette Pussycat even existed and now I can hear her voice!

“When did you become such a pessimist?”

She shrugged. “Around the time we lost.”

“Ever heard the one where it’s not over ‘til it’s over?”

“We’re dead. We’ve been dead for maybe a year now. I think it’s pretty over.”

“Maybe not.” She looked at him. “Hela claims she knows where Thanos has gone.”

For a few seconds, there was silence. Then, her expression went alert, the colour of her eyes deepening as she looked at him. “You’ve known this for a while.”

“You’d have known earlier if you’d been awake.” He refused to feel guilty about it. “The Wakandans were planning to call you in, but you were sleeping, so they left you.”

“I see. And in exchange for telling us where Thanos has gone, she wants...?”

“She wants to go with us when we go up against Thanos.”

“If we do.”

Nick frowned. “Why wouldn’t we? We’ve got nothing to lose at this point – not even our lives. And if we got hold of the Infinity Gauntlet, we might just be able to change things around.”

“Is that what you’re planning? Find Thanos, get the Infinity Gauntlet off him, and revert everything back to the way it was?”

“You got a better idea?”

In the silence that followed, he watched her. Her struggle wasn’t obvious, but he’d been watching her for the last dozen years, and he knew how her mind worked. Pride wasn’t the first thing that came to mind when most people thought of Maria Hill, but it was the first thing Nick had noticed about her as a new recruit to S.H.I.E.L.D. Not pride in herself and what she could do, but pride in a job done well.

Losing the world wasn’t a job done well.

“No,” she said at last. “I don’t.”

Working on my next story in the Series about Daniel Jackson swooping around the universes and helping people. This time he's visiting the Criminal Minds world. Unfortunately, Danny just came from the SG1 episode "Abyss" so he's a bit upset about Jack's torture.

Deep, huh? Wish it had more cat puppets, honestly.

"Daniel dug the toes of his sneakers into the edge of the sand pit where the smaller children played. His discussion in the cell with Jack twisted in his stomach. After all these years, he hadn't known – hadn't realized. Jack still hated himself. Hated himself for Charlie's death. Down deep, buried where others couldn't see it day by day, Jack would never feel worthy. Worthy of Ascension. Hell, worthy of friendship, of life.

What hurt the most was that Daniel should have known. And, if he was being honest, in some corner of his heart, he had. For two men so separated by philosophy and personality, Daniel and Jack had twin souls. Hearts filled with the pain of loss and the gnawing teeth of guilt. Daniel had chosen to go, to ascend so that he could throw off his past and chase through the universes to help others, to purge his sins. Jack chose to stay. To live on and fight to protect others on Earth. Daniel hoped for a future where his sins could finally be purged – Jack, for all of his Catholic upbringing, believed in – welcomed - his eternal damnation. As if his son, Charlie, was waiting for him at the Judgment Seat, eager to see his father burn."

My smallfandombang Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters fic is due in a little over a week, and I only have a tenth of it done. *sobs* Not for lack of wanting to write it, it's just now that the deadline is so close, I'm psyching myself out.

This post has also inspired me to say no to another Netflix binge tonight (you're well enough to go to work, self, so being sick is not an excuse anymore.). Instead, maybe I'll attempt to finish 2 squares of my latch hook rug. This is the project I'm working on. I've barely finished the first row, so lots to go!

Oh, this is a cool idea! I have started SO MANY THINGS lately, the trick now will be finishing some/any of them in a timely fashion so I have A Thing to show for my efforts.

Things I have started within the past couple of weeks:
- a drawing of my d&d character
- more icons
- 3 fics (2 monsterfucky ones and one extremely self-indulgent tropey one)
- holiday cards....if taking all the stationery out and putting it on my coffee table counts as "starting"

- a PWP poly HP fic (Harry/Hermione/Draco + Luna) I shared some dialog from during snowflake, but haven't had opportunity to work on for a week or so
- an hour-and-a-half HP Drarry podfic, just needs editing and posting
- a quilt top that needs to be actually quilted to its backing
- knitting projects that are MIA

- just started rehearsals for April's chorus concert
- figure drawing class starts Monday

Planned but not started:
- podfics for Awesome Ladies (well, I've recorded one, still need to edit it)
- podfics for Purimgifts
- 2 hour podfic for Draco Tops Harry fest

I have no idea where I'm going to find time for all this.

This is part of a bighuge fic, currently at 24K and I haven't even reached the first mission. *gulp*

Getting to the mission is today and probably tomorrow, and writing the actual mission will hopefully be tomorrow and Saturday...
