Okay, I have been putting this off for a while now, but I really want to see this challenge to the bitter end and so...

You see, my confidence in these things are not stellar in the best of times, and lately my karma has been spectacularly bad...

But... well, this one time at a con I met a flister who I didn't really know that well at the time, and she said something that has stayed with me for all these years whether she remembers it or not. She said, "I love your journal, it's so effervescent!" That one simple sentence, that one simple word--effervescent--has gotten me through some bad self-esteem-why-am-I-here days.

So, here I am putting it--and my heart--out for you to do with what you want.

Yep. I'm sure I remember it so vividly because I'd never been called that before, or since. I always feared my particular brand of ridiculous wasn't cool, but after that I would think to myself, 'Fuck that! Someone thinks it's effervescent!'
