White Collar Appreciation Post (Out of the Frying Pan Edition)

Last week's wrap up of all things lovely and wonderful was fun! Lets do it again!

Like last time, I'm only wanting what made you smile, sigh, love and laugh. I'm not saying there isn't value and time/place for critique and discussions about what was amiss. I'm just saying this isn't that place, this isn't that time. I'm sure I will be back shortly with my thoughts on those things, but for now.

A list...

♥ Firstly, I was spoiled a bit that this was going to be an especially awesome Mozz!Fangirl episode early that day on Twitter. So I was stoked going in.
♥ Seeing Tim D. and Matt’s name under Producers was new information that made my heart swell
♥ Fan!service Dance
♥ Tj!Service Bob Fosse! <333
♥ That ecstatic and random head rub thing. Do you ever get the feeling every once and a while that Neal just gets overcome with how awesome his little buddy is and he can't contain his joy? I get it dude, I get it. ♥
♥ Both the Lapdog playing to Neal's vanity and Neal knowing he was being played
♥ ELLLLL!
♥ Morning Coffee Walk & Talk
♥ "Things with us..." ♥_____♥
♥ "English doesn't have a gender neutral singular pronoun."--nice safe! But, EUROPE IN THE 40s? Gee, I wonder who this could be?!?!
♥♥ Teddy “Theodore” Winters <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3
♥ Sketch artist rendering! “Pictures don’t lie.”
♥ Statue of Liberty MOZZZZZZ!
(OT: Psych The Musical is an idea that I can’t believe hasn’t happened many times by now.)
♥ Fake Death (Mostly I like this because it makes me feel a bit more at ease about a horrific spoiler I had heard)
♥ Monkey typing… Guess that answers that age-old question...
♥ DIANA! "It's not hard to lose teeth, give me a brick and I’ll show you."
♥ Mozzie and Lady Suit <333 When she calls out for him as he's attempting to be heartless. MY HEART! Sometimes their interactions aren’t my favorite (even though they’re almost always fun to watch) but this was definitely my favorite. “I don’t want you touching my…” NOBODY WANTS THAT DIANA!
♥ afjasdl;fj That little bow at the end of the hall!dance
♥ Both Mozz and Diana shushing Neal for cursing in front of the baby
♥ “...I don’t have a lot of family. You guys are it. Even him… somehow.”
♥ Okay, a lot of time we throw out the word "literally" too frequently (don't even get me started on that!) or say things we did but didn’t actually do-- LOL (really, out loud?), my heart broke (really? Like in two?) and all that, but I swear to god I actually, LITERALLY burst into legitimate ugly-cry sobbing when Diana named her baby Theo. <3<3<3 You ARE A PART OF THE FAMILY NOW MOZZZZIE! and then that look between Mozz and Neal. MY HEART!
♥ Peter! Peter stop being so freakin’ smart. Okay?

Overall--
I am just loving the lighter feel of the show these last two episodes so far. For example, this time when El told Neal, "Do what ever you have to." It didn't bother me. It didn't seem like THE END OF THE WORLD AS I KNEW IT, like last time. Some don’t like when it’s not Dark!Serious. I am not one of those people. I'm also liking how personal this is all for Neal so far this season without it being All. About. Neal, you know?

Peter isn’t even hiding it-- HE KNOWS EVERYTHING! I don't know how, or what he's playing at, but he does. EVERYTHING. Also, just sayin’, but if Tim DeKay acted in the first season as wicked, subtle as he is now, that mid-season finale “Kate. We need to talk.” would have been WAY more tantalizing.

And finally, what are all your thoughts on this? “All the proof of his guilt is upstairs, just thought you should know…” Is he purposefully setting Neal up?

I loved EVERYTHING about this episode. EVERYTHING - from Neal dancing (and then posing with the cane), to meeting the new handler, to Super!Snarky Diana who makes everyone afraid, to Clinton being so concerned about her. I loved every moment of Moz here (or should I say, Teddy Winters). And that Peter knows who saved Diana and her baby - and probably who Teddy Winters really is - but doesn't say anything.

And Neal's moment of regret at the end. And his worry.

I don't think it's a squee harsh to point out that the only moment of dislike was when Peter failed to remove his undershirt. COME ON!!!!!!!!!

LOL yes, teasing us like that, taking the shirt off, then taking the t-shirt out of his pants and then... stoping there ! /o\
Come on ! This is mean. Really mean.

Other than that, that was a wonderful episode. LOTS of great moments, witty dialogue, Mozzie being over-Mozzie.
The Neal - Peter - Mozzie/Diana montage with Mozart soundtrack, was beautiful. And If you had told me Diana would deliver onscreen I would have been sceptical, but they managed to make it "White Collar style" (a mix of fun, suspense, moving moments, and human values)

And I like the new dynamic created with the arrival of the new handler.

Haha, right? Especially since that look that El gave him--you KNOW he lost his shirt moments later. ;)

Over--Mozzie is my favorite thing! ♥♥♥

The music in the ep! I meant to list that too. It was all so glorious and magical.

The new handler will be intriguing. How Neal plays him will be fascinating. :)))

[identity profile] tjs-whatnot.livejournal.com 2013-10-29 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
It was pretty glorious!

I think that Peter just knows everything. I remember he had alluded to knowing who Mozzie was long ago. But still... now, he just KNOWS.

;_____; Poor Neal.

Heehee, I love Peter in his undershirt so much that I didn't even mind that we didn't see more. ♥♥

I love how much you love this show! I never know what to say but I always want to say something because I start getting excited by the excitement! lol

*hugs*

Awwwww!

I sort of love this about both of us. That we can be excited about the excitement of the other. It's exactly how I feel when I see your Harry/Draco recs. I know going in that I'm not going to read these stories, but seeing your excitement, the way you describe your joy. It makes me as happy as you probably were when you finished reading.

It's why I know we'll always be besties, no matter where we go.

I loved everything already mentioned plus Neal's first scenes at the office. First he tried to get Peter to tell him about the new handler. Then he acted so hyper in the conference room. He was so nervous about the situation, but tried to act so cool, I really loved that whole scene. And how he protected Moz, he really showed how he feels about him.

Altogether a wonderful episode. My unspoiled anticipation was completely fulfilled and I am excitedly looking forward to next week, Thursday seems so far away.

By the way, last week someone posted a link to watch the show on Google drive, or docs. Google and I was actually able to watch. I can't find the same thing this week, does anyone know about this? I can't watch the USA videos as I only have a kindle and other download sites I tried won't open on kindle. TIA.

Neal protecting Mozzie in the last two episodes ("No, the jumper isn't important, it's the guy on the ground that we got to find") filled my heart with glee. ♥♥

I don't know how to get anything on Gdrive/gdocs. I didn't even know that was a thing. Hmm... I have a kindle fire too.. let me ask around.

Sorry about the anonymous, it's just me, I think LJ dumped me even tho I was logged in!

Stupid LJ.

I just never know if I should respond to anonymous as I'm not sure it gets to them. I'm glad you got it, even if I came up with a big nada on the downloading the ep. I just know the normal dubious ways. :((

I had a feeling that either Peter or Mozzie would end up having to deliver Diana's baby. I love how we got to see Mozzie being the Hero. He was comforting and confident to Diana in her time of need. I love how Marsha Thomason was able to so naturally go from showing her confident tough FBI side and to showing her Vulnerable scared side.

I agree with you that Peter just can't stop being Smart. I don't think he knows everything but boy he has a lot of suspicions. Now that some time has passed, he can no longer shake the feeling that his freedom was not the Justice he thought it was. As his doubts grow, he has to be careful about how he goes about getting at the truth because there is a lot more at stake. I am excited to see how it is all going to come out. : ) : )

"I'm also liking how personal this is all for Neal so far this season without it being All. About. Neal, you know?"

So far we have had Neal & his search for Kate, Neal & his secret about the treasure, Neal & his arguments with Mozzie about whether to stay or go & then Neal & his relationship with his father. This season could be about Neal and himself. His continued struggle to know who he is. Peter has always said that Neal can be a con or a man but you can't be both. Neal could just prove him wrong and finds a balance that allows him to be both.

[identity profile] tjs-whatnot.livejournal.com 2013-10-29 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
I really didn't think she'd have it so soon. It makes sense that someone on the show would deliver the child and it sure wouldn't be Neal. "This is Italian leather, are you kidding me?!?!?!" But I'm so glad it was Mozzie! One more thing tying him to the "family." ♥♥

You're definitely right about the theme of the seasons so far and I can absolutely see this season being Neal and himself. Though, I would argue that all the seasons were that-- Neal & his past (Kate), Neal & his criminal instinct (treasure), Neal & his defining a future (Mozzie vs. Peter), Neal & his nature vs. nurture (his father) and these season will more than likely be Neal & his defining for himself what it means to be a good person.

Or something. :))

I watched ep 2 again and I had some more thoughts. Over the season's Neal's relationship with Peter has always been viewed (i guess) against the backdrop of the other events/people - Neal/Kate & Peter, Neal/Treasure & Peter etc. I was thinking that this season could be, in addition to Neal defining himself, it could be about defining his relationship with Peter (separate from all the other stuff that goes on). How do they maintain their friendship (will it change for good or bad) if they are not working together? Can it survive if Neal keeps some of his conman ways?

I have also been thinking alot about Neal's new handler and why he is in NY. I have a feeling it is not a coincidence that he arrives just as Curtis Hagen is up for an appeal. I feel like he is connect to all of this in some way.

This show has me overflowing with thinky thoughts. ; ) : )

[identity profile] tjs-whatnot.livejournal.com 2013-10-31 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, yeah, the shipper in me has always thought it was everything vs. a future with Peter. Neal's past vs Peter, Neal's criminal instinct vs. future with Peter, Neal's future with Mozz vs. future with Peter, Neal's father vs. the family that Peter (and El) are providing... and all the time Peter has to change too, has to become ~more~. More trusting, more suspicious, more cunning, more rule-bendy... It's been a fun adventure.

Other times I see Mozzie as the devil on one shoulder and Peter the angel on the other. :))) The hard part for me is, I want Neal to have them both. I want Peter to be okay with Neal having them both, with being a con AND a man.

I haven't given any thought to the new handler. I think I get myself in trouble lately by thinking everything means something and then being disappointed when it doesn't. So this time I'm going to think it's nothing and be pleasantly surprised. Hopefully.

I...don't..remember the episode. I remember the ending very well, but the rest of it is a blur. Oh my goodness, I have to go and watch that again straight after dinner and then totally be back to just be absolutely amazed on how amazing it was.

[identity profile] tjs-whatnot.livejournal.com 2013-10-29 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
fja;fjaslfjasd;lfkasdj RIGHT?!?!?!

I had to watch it again almost immediately to be reminded what came before the naming the baby Theo bit.
