Work in Progress Wednesday!

It's 11:50. Yay! Just under the wire. GO ME!

So, whatcha working on?

I just FINALLY finished my essay for the X-Files book thingy. Only a gazillion days late, but oh well. I'm really worried it won't be funny enough. The guy who puts this out really likes things to be fun to read. He's super quirky and so is the books he puts out. So, my first mistake was choosing a story that had serious faults and then watching it over and over and getting more and more irritated. Don't get me wrong, I really love what I've seen of X-Files so far and find it very interesting and clever and I want to marry and grow old with both Mulder and Scully. But, well, there are a few shows that are rather problematic. And yes, I choose one of those ("Shapes" in case you were wondering--the fuckin' Twilight of X-Files stories--i.e. Native American werwolves ffs!) So, I went with a clever concept instead of haha funny. Wish me luck.

To celebrate my victory of actually finishing something, I am now enjoying the sweet--AMAZING--treats that [personal profile] minoanmiss sent me. ♥ In a related quandary; is it the proper way to eat Dulce de Leche just straight out of the tub? Asking for a friend.

Alright, so give us a little snippet/snapshot of what you are working on. Then come back and share in others' works in progress to cheer on/commiserate. Also, how do you celebrate your little (or big) victories?

♥♥

One of my WIPs stopped being one, and a lot of other stuff is assignment-related, but I do have a snippet that's something I'm looking to see if it's properly creepy or not.

He looked through the rain. Hawk Moth and Ladybug both looked like they'd spent the last two weeks fighting each other
Which, in essence, they had. They locked eyes again and—was his Lady singing?

"Form your armies,
Dream your dreams.
Make your plans and plot your schemes.
Send your a-ku-mas, one and all…"

A blur of red buzzed around Ladybug, breaking apart several of the weapons the akumatized citizens were attempting to use on her. Several purple butterflies floated out from their remains.

"Then in batlle…"

Ladybug's yo-yo snapped out and grabbed one of the purple butterflies, purifying it and releasing it.

"Watch."

Snap.

"Them."

Snap.

"FALL."

Hawk Moth charged as the last of the butterflies floated away. Chat Noir leapt in front of his Lady, blocking Hawk Moth's advance and driving him off.
